Picture Post

Hey All! I know theses pictures are random, but they are from my time so far in Africa. The video at the bottom is where I stayed for 3 nights when I was in Zambia. Sorry for the pictures being scattered and all over the place, I'm still trying to figure out how this blog thing works.

March Update.

Hey everyone!
I though it was time for the latest update to go out. Sorry it has been a while. February was a rather challenging month for me. I am pretty much on my own down here as far as work schedule goes. I am responsible for setting up things with the schools as far as teaching and after school programs go. So basically I spent a lot of week days going ALL over the place trying to find high schools that want me. However, it is March now, and I almost have a pretty full schedule. I am in 3 different High Schools teaching what I call "Life Skills--How to make good decisions, and be successful." Yes, I made that title up myself. I have blended together 3 different sources of materials to come up with my own course :) I didn't like everything in all of them, so I pulled out the stuff I like and use it. It's South Africa, I can do that here! All my lessons are built around principles in the Bible. It's nice here because I can flat out present the gospel, and no one minds, most would encourage it actually. The schools I am in do provide an extra challenge however. The classes average about 60 kids to one teacher. And one of my classes has 80 kids!! Yes it is nuts!! I only meet with them once a week, but honestly I feel bad for the learners. Its hard to learn in a class with 80 kids, especially when they don't all want to be there. I am also doing soccer at a school on Wednesday afternoons. I'm really happy that I finally get to do a little sport here!!!! I have been missing it like crazy!! Even though these 10th and 11th grade boys make me look like a 1st grader when I'm out there playing with them. :) They have some soccer skills here, thats for sure. Don't worry I'm not going to come home a diehard soccer fan. (That was for Steve).

The church plant that I have written about is going really well!! Bonita Park, which is like an extension of Hartswater, is where we meet on Sundays. We have had about 10 or so adults, and meet in a mans house. I have been 3 times now, and preached once. Last Saturday my whole team came down to Hartswater, and we led a little workshop on prayer walking, and then went out with the members of the main church and prayer walked Bonita Park. It was a great time, and we were able to provide the church with a powerful tool in Kingdom growth. I would ask that you all would remember to lift up the community of Bonita Park in your prayers.

The Picture of the waterway is like the ULTIMATE lazy river, I will ride it sometime soon.

The one with the students is my class of 80

And there have been a lot of cool rainbows lately
