Happy New Year from South Africa! I hope this letter finds everyone doing well. I know it has been a while since you all have heard from me and I apologize. I should be staying down here at my house now for more then 2 weeks without having to travel. The last 3 months I have been all over the place doing different things and helping out at camps and such. I just got home from my clusters prayer retreat. My Cluster consists of the northwest province of South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. We all met for a time of praying together and for each other as well as getting set to start a new year in our ministries. It was a great experience, and a good jump start into the new year. I want to give you all the rundown of what this year will look like for me. I have kind of changed my job a little bit as I have felt the Lords leading. I will still be working in schools in Pamperistad doing after school programs with the kids. I will hopefully get to do some sport and exercise programs with them. The new part of my job, which I'm most excited about, is that I am going to be working with a church here as we plant a church in an area right by where I live called Bonita Park. Ever since arriving on the field here, God has given me the desire to work more in the church planting side of things, and He has opened the door for me to do so. I will be doing some discipleship with new believers in the area, as well as just prayer walking and finding people who want to hear the good news. I will most likely be working with some church members as well, so I will have translators when needed. I'm really excited to see how this church does it, and learn from them. One of the biggest struggles in Africa is getting people to reproduce. It is so easy to get people to say a prayer of belief, but to find those who have the desire to go out and share with others what they have is RARE. I'm am very fortunate to get to see African believers with a desire to start churches and see their country come to know Christ. I would ask that you pray for the area of Bonita Park, that the Holy Spirit might move among the people there, and that Christ would be glorified in that place. I also ask that you would pray for two individuals that I have had the opportunity to share with. One young guy is named Christopher, I got to share the whole gospel with him and gave him a bible as well, He wasn't ready yet to believe and then moved back to his place which is far from me. However, he is back for a couple months, and I will get to spend time with him again. Pray for him. Also a guy named ALI who runs a electronics store here. He is from Pakistan and is a muslim. I have gone to his store and visited with him a few times, and we have had some good talks about Christianity and Islam. Pray that I might have the words to share with him as well. I am very grateful for all of your thoughts and prayers, and wouldn't be here if it weren't for all of the prayer support you have given me. Thank you for partnering with me in this journey!!!
I love and miss all of you!!!
